Breastfeeding Education & Support

Breastfeeding education and support is available to all Jefferson County women. Individual education and support is offered during pregnancy and after a baby's birth to encourage and facilitate successful breastfeeding.

The Breastfeeding Tea Party

The Breastfeeding Tea party, a support group for moms and babies, is held weekly on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to12:30 p.m. at Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH). 

A support group for moms and babies, led by a certified lactation consultant.  Talk with other breastfeeding moms, and get answers to your breastfeeding questions from an expert.

Talk about being a new mom, feeding your baby, parenting, life with a baby.

All moms and babies and pregnant women welcome.

WIC Nutrition Program

Breastfeeding women enrolled in the WIC nutrition program may be eligible for additional nutritious foods, electric and manual breast pumps, and the loan of hospital-grade electric breast pumps.

Additional support is available from Public Health Dietitians, public health nurses or health educators.

Receive referrals to lactation consultants in other community resources.
