The Jefferson County Planning Commission completed and transmitted their periodic review of the Draft 2018 Comprehensive Plan & Unified Development Code (UDC) delivered their findings and recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) on Monday, May 21, 2018 during the Regular Agenda session. With this transmittal, the Planning Commission concludes years of work and public outreach on this project.

Community Development Planners continue to guide and facilitate the Comprehensive Plan Periodic Review process as the BoCC considers the Planning Commission recommendations. Community outreach continues with an additional public comment period between May 23 and June 8, 2018. The BoCC will hold a public hearing to accept written and verbal testimony on June 4, 2018 at 6 pm in the Jefferson County Superior Courtroom. After considering public comments, the BoCC will decide whether to adopt a final Comprehensive Plan in Summer 2018, meeting the requirements of the Washington Growth Management Act.

The updated Plan contains goals and policies that guide land use planning, capital investments, and other county decision and services over the next twenty years.
