[ARCHIVED] 2018 Code Effective Date retracted to Feb 1

The current effective date of the 2018 building code is February 1, 2021. Any building plans received through April 30, 2021 will be accepted by Jefferson County under both the 2015 or 2018 Building Codes. This includes International Codes, Washington State amendments, and Washington State energy and plumbing codes.

Implementation of the 2018 ICC Building Codes, and Washington State code adoption has experienced many delays over the last year. Due to the financial impacts of COVID-19, the recent extension to July 1, 2021, and then the retraction of this extension by Governor Inslee, Jefferson County will be giving a three-month grace period on the submittal of building plans.

Any building plans received through April 30, 2021 will be accepted by Jefferson County under both the 2015 or 2018 Building Codes. This includes International Codes, Washington State amendments, and Washington State energy and plumbing codes.

2018 Building Code Effective Date extension repealed. The current Effective Date is February 1, 2021.

The Governor repealed the 2018 Code Effective Date extension of July 1, 2021.
