October is National Disability Employment month. Please join Jefferson County Public Health, the Developmental Disabilities (DD) Program, in partnership with the Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board, Skookum Contract Services, Concerned Citizens, and Cascade Community Connections in recognizing local businesses that continue to make a difference by employing people with intellectual/developmental disabilities in Jefferson County.
It is employers who lead
by example when it comes to eliminating barriers to work and we want to say thank you to these local businesses for being leaders in our community. By welcoming the work force talents of individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, you are indispensable to building an inclusive county and robust economy:
Bay View Restaurant, Business Guides, Chimacum School District, Concerned Citizens, Enclume, Finnriver Farm & Cidery, Fort Worden PDA, Gathering Place, Jefferson County Auditor’s Office, Henery’s Hardware, Management Services Northwest, Oak Bay Animal Hospital, Pane d’Amore, Pizza Factory, Port Townsend School District – Food Services Department, Phofilling, PT Kayaks, The Car Wash, Quimper Mercantile, Safeway, Skookum Contract Services, Skookum Recycle, Skookum Laundry and Subway Port Townsend.
Washington State is number two in the US when it comes to employing people with intellectual/developmental disabilities in the community. Again, we thank the many employers in Washington State & Jefferson County that recognize the benefits of a diverse workforce, and we value their contributions.
