Port Ludlow – Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) will remove the No Water Contact Advisory for Port Ludlow Bay effective Tuesday, January 12, 2021. A confirmed sewage overflow of 42,000 gallons on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, led to the Advisory that was issued that same day, (available at jeffersoncountypublichealth.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=636). Olympic Water and Sewer, Inc. cleared the blockage that led to the spill and confirmed that plant operations returned to normal at 7:00 am Tuesday. Although the water quality has improved, JCPH always recommends avoiding areas around stormwater pipes during heavy rainfall events due to the possibility of pollutants in the water.
