CHIMACUM CLINIC OPEN APRIL 17 FOR FIRST DOSE VACCINATION

CHIMACUM—Jefferson County Public Health together with the Department of Emergency Management will again operate an appointment-only vaccination clinic on Saturday, April 17 from 1-4PM at the Chimacum School District Multi-Purpose Room, 91 West Valley Road. Second doses will only be given in the morning during the April 17 clinic, with first doses being administered exclusively in the afternoon time slots.

Update: As of April 15, all Washington residents 16 and older are eligible to receive the vaccine. The vaccine being used at this clinic is Moderna, which has been approved for ages 18 and up.

Those eligible include: 
• People 16 years or older with 2 or more co-morbidities or underlying conditions
• All people 60 years and older
• People, staff and volunteers in certain congregate living settings: correctional facilities; groups homes for people with disabilities; settings where people experiencing homelessness live or access services
• High-risk critical workers in certain congregate settings: restaurants, food services, construction and manufacturing and anyone who was eligible in earlier phases are eligible to get vaccinated.

Anyone who was eligible in earlier vaccine phases can also schedule an appointment.  The vaccine being used at this clinic is Moderna.

Also, several pharmacies in the area will continue to offer vaccination appointments as vaccine supplies are available to them. They include: 

Olympic Area Agency on Aging (O3A) has contracted with ECHHO to offer transportation assistance to vaccine sites for individuals 60 older. O3A is also taking names of people who cannot leave their homes and will need eventual home visits. Their Information and Assistance desk can be reached at 360-385-2552 or 1-800-801-0050.
