JEFFERSON COUNTY— Jefferson County residents at high risk for infection of MPV (Monkeypox) may now get on the list for the JYNNEOS vaccine by using this online form https://tinyurl.com/mpvvaccinejeffco or calling 360-385-9400. People who are interested in the vaccine, but are not currently eligible can also fill out the form and request to be placed on a waitlist.

Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) recommended JYNNEOS vaccine eligibility includes:
 • Individuals who have had a significant exposure to MPV
 • Gay, bisexual, and other men and transgender individuals who have had sex with men AND who meet one of the following criteria:

 • Have had multiple or anonymous sexual partners in the last 3 months
 • Have attended a bathhouse, circuit party, or public sex venue in the last 3 months
 • Have had syphilis or gonorrhea in the past year
 • Have exchanged sex for drugs or money in the last 3 months
 • Have experienced homelessness or incarceration in the last 3 months
 • Have used methamphetamines in the prior 3 months
 • Belong to a historically marginalized racial minority

JCPH will offer the JYNNEOS vaccine as it becomes available. A public health nurse will communicate with those who are currently eligible.

If you have been in contact with someone with MPV, please call JCPH. If you have a new or unusual rash, contact your primary care provider to be evaluated. For those without a primary care provider, appointments can be made at JCPH by calling (360) 385-9400.

Tecovirimat (TPOXX) is a treatment for MPV for those at high risk for severe disease. A prescription may be available through your primary care provider. JCPH can also provide TPOXX for people without insurance or a primary care provider.

More information about the JYNNEOS vaccine can be found on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website here: https://www.cdc.gov/poxvirus/monkeypox/interim-considerations/jynneos-vaccine.html.
