Dear Readers,

We have dedicated ourselves to a thorough COVID-19 pandemic response, which has been challenging and successful. We are grateful for our communities’ collective efforts which have made Jefferson County one of the safest places to be in Washington. Public Health has learned a great deal about our communities’ unique and diverse needs.  We are entering a period of pandemic reflection and strategic renewal given the challenges and lessons we have faced as a workforce in service to the health and wellbeing of Jefferson County residents. -Apple Martine, Director

Recycling Changes Coming June 1

Starting June 1, bottles and jugs will be the only type of plastics accepted for recycling because they are recyclable domestically. All other plastics are sent overseas to uncertain locations that may include and unregulated landfill or a giant burn pile.
